ECO car combines retro design with modern technology for a comfy ride

Combining the old traditions of Laurin and Klement, a pre-war Czech company, with modern technology and system, designer Petr Novague has come up with a car concept that apart from presenting retro design also helps in sustaining the ecology. Hailed as “ECO,” the concept car features tube car frame, half-hood body and carbon components, which makes it a lightweight and energy efficient vehicle. Running on four narrow wheels, powered by built-in electric motors, the ECO car promises a sustainable ride in utmost comfort. Locating the batteries under the tilting front lid, which also works as door, the ecological automobile presents an effective operating range of 500 km per charge.
Attaching the lattice truss frame, made in chromium-molybdenum steel, to the carbon frame with inside honeycomb upfront, the retro-futuristic car also touts electronic drive-line (4 x 4) with stabilization system, which reduces the weight of mechanical connections by a huge margin. Moreover, the ECO car can change it ground clearance, thanks to the double-wishbone axel disposes of the push rod suspension, uniball endings and impact dampers, according to the road or terrain.

Chicken Point Cabin – surprisingly harmonious modern hotel with original architecture and iconic elements, combining function and aesthetics of the original. The authors of the “forest” of the project was already known to us American architectural studio Olson Kundig Architects.Unusual cozy house located in a scenic area of Northern Idaho. According to the architects, the main idea of the construction of Chicken Point Cabin was the creation of a cozy romantic forest refuge with large panoramic “lined with” a window opening out into the surrounding house magnificent nature.
A large window offers two tiers of windows, all the main room hotel, combining it with the forest, located near the lake and the mountain tops, trailing the horizon line. Materials of construction – concrete blocks and floors, metal, wood and plywood – have been left in its natural, almost raw state. Modern living meets subterranean splendor in this gorgeous home nestled inside of a 15,000-square foot sandstone cave in Festus, Missouri. Built by Curt and Deborah Sleeper, the underground abode features modern interior spaces that blend with the beautiful unfinished sandstone walls to create an incredible example of energy-efficient architecture. Geothermal heating and smart passive design keeps the interior comfortable while completely eliminating the need for a furnace or air conditioning.
This unique house is located in Missouri, USA and is on sale on Ebay for $300,000. I can’t even imagine how much time and efforts it took to build all this. A three-bedroom home built in a 15,000 sqft cave in Festus, MO, formerly a roller-rink/concert venue that entertained the MC5, Ike and Tina Turner and Ted Nugent. Sounds like a hell of a place to live. It’s got three freshwater springs and there are fourteen waterfalls on the property. Yowza.
Property: 2.8 scenic, partially wooded acres provide excellent privacy and the feel of the country right in the middle of town, just several blocks from shopping, dining, and other conveniences. Geothermal and passive solar keep the home comfortable year-round without a furnace or air conditioning. In spite of the vast size of the home, our energy costs here run about the same as they did in our 800 square-foot starter home. The home naturally stays a little cooler than the average above-ground home, but we found that we acclimated quickly and easily.
